Before You Build in the Saddle Ridge Community

The Covenants and Restrictions contain language stating that house plans shall be approved by the “developer.” Our agreement with DCA, Inc., the Saddle Ridge developer, transferred that responsibility to the Saddle Ridge Property Owners Association (SRPOA).

The SRPOA has an Architectural Review Committee (ARC) that reviews proposed construction plans to ensure compatibility with other construction in Saddle Ridge. The review process normally takes less than one week. Please give a set of plans and/or specifications to a Board member or email them to saddleridgepoa@gmail.com when you get ready to build.

The package does not have to be a full set of working drawings; a floor plan and elevations (with some basic dimensions) are primarily all that is needed along with a brief description of roof and siding materials. In addition, your package should include:

            - the name of the contractor;

           - a simple schedule identifying when you expect to begin building; and
           - the lot number for the construction.

The ARC will be happy to make recommendations and suggestions for the new construction, based on their own building experience and that of other homeowners. Among the items typically overlooked are driveway access for emergency vehicles, turn-around space for those vehicles, and other items dealing with fire prevention and safety.

The ARC has compiled a list of guidelines that homeowners in the process of new construction will find useful. These guidelines keep with Saddle Ridge Community standards. Kindly review the Architectural Committee – New Home Construction document, and where applicable, also review them with your general contractor/builder.

 Finally, the approval for building by the Architectural Committee will become official upon receipt of the construction/road impact fee.    These fees are found in the Architectural Committee – New Home Construction document.
